Make Your Heart Healthy

According to a new study, listening to music may help to lower your blood pressure. That's good for all of us who love music! This study, conducted by Japanese researchers, found that "people who took part in bimonthly group sessions built around music or laughter" lowered their blood pressure by "an average of five to six points after three months."

So being surrounded by your favorite music tunes can help your heart. NOVA Music Center just had its first jam session a few days ago. The event was successful with numerous people coming from various parts of Northern Virginia to jam with their guitars and ukuleles. Not only is the jam session beneficial to the musician who wants to learn and play more with other musicians, but it can also now lead to a healthier lifestyle.

There is always more room at NOVA Music for the next aspiring musician. Stop on in and say hello!
