The requinto guitar is often found in "trio romantico" and mariachi style bands. The 6-string nylon string requinto has a 530 - 540mm scale and is tuned A D G C E A. Similar to the ukulele C tuning (G C E A). Requintos are often smaller than a classical guitar with a deep body. "Trio romantico" groups typically have two other classical guitars or a contrabass or guitarron.
Though the body and the neck are smaller, the deep body does not make it necessarily make it a better instrument for children who aspire to the guitar. Come in a see how it fits.
